As per the direction of the Government, Karnataka Examinations Authority is conducting the Common Entrance Test2014 i.e.CET2014 as per the following schedule for admissions to Medical,Dental Ayurveda, Homoeopathy,Unani,Naturopathy & Yoga,Engineering,B.Sc.Agriculture, Sericulture,Forestry,Horticulture,B-Pharma,D-Pharma etc.for the year 2014-15.
Entrance Exams in Karnataka
Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering, Medical, Dental Courses in Karnataka.
Professional colleges in Karnataka State which offers Medical, Dental and Engineering Education are affiliated to the state run Universities, admit students through Karnataka CET every year.
Every year KCET is conducted for the admission in various Government/University/Private un-aided and Private aided professional Educational Institutions in Karnataka. The exam is conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) at 50 places spread in the entire Karnataka Region

For the applicants who want to claim eligibility for Govt. Seats in KCET 2014 Entrance Exam under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga eligibility clauses and who have Kannada, Tulu or Kodava as their primary mother language, shall have to appear for the Kannada Language test conducted by KEA.
The application criteria for the applicants who want to apply for Engineering/Technological Courses is:
To appear in KCET 2014, the applicants should have passed the qualifying exam i.e. class 12 or 2nd PUC with Mathematics and Physics as the compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biology/Bio-Technology as optional subjects with English as the language of study with a minimum of 45% (General) and 40% (ST, SC, OBC and Category-1).
The applicants appearing for the 2nd PUC, can also apply for the KCET 2014.
The applicants should read the brochure carefully and completely to understand the documents they have to submit and they require during the admission process of KCET 2014.
Application Form for KCET 2014:
The application form of KCET 2014 can be obtained from the office of the Principal/Head of Institution where the applicant has studied or studying for the 12th class.
The applicants have to submit 650 INR(General) and 500 INR (ST,SC and Category-1) via cash or NEFT Transaction to the Bank Account of KEA having IFSC Code IDIB000M010 and Account Number 878333780 at the Malleswaram Branch, Bangalore of Indian Bank.
The applicants staying outside the Karnataka State including the Gadinadu and Horanadu applicants will have to first submit the form fee for KCET 2014 via NEFT transaction after which they will be sent the forms and brochure via email.
Then the applicants have to submit the filled forms either at their respective college or school or should send the forms of KCET 2014 via Speed Post till around 1st week of May 2014 to the following address:
Administrative Officer, Karnataka Examinations Authority Malleswaram, 18th Cross, Sampinge Road, Bangalore 560 012.
The various conditions of Eligibility Criteria of KCET are as follows:
The applicant should have studied for at least 7 yrs form 1st to 12th and must have passed either 10th or 12th class form the Government or Government Recognized institutions located in Karnataka. If one applicant has attempted more than one time, at any class’ exams, that will be counted as one year only.
Applicants should have passed 11th and 12th exam from an institution recognized by Karnataka State Government and one of their parents should also have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 yrs as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014.
The mother language of applicant and one of his/ her parents must be Kannada, Kodava or Tulu and either of his/ her parents must be of Karnataka Domicile. Applicants of such category should have passed the 12th class form any educational institution from outside Karnataka and should have resided outside Karnataka to be eligible as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014. A Kannada Language Test will be conducted by KEA for such Applicants.
The applicants speaking Kannada, Kodava or Tulu as their mother-tongue language must have resided and studied for 7 yrs (1st to 12th) in disputed Kannada speaking areas of South Sholapur, Jath, Akkalkot or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharahstra or Hosadurga or Kasargod or Taluks of Kerala. Such applicants will also have to give a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA as per Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014.
As per the Eligibility Criteria, in the case of Defense Personnel who have worked in Karnataka continuously and have worked for at least one year during which the applicant has passed 10th and 12th from Karnataka, have their wards eligible for KCET 2014.
The children of the serving Defence Personnel who have submitted the hometown as Karnataka while joining the army are eligible according to Eligibility Criteria. Such applicants should be able to produce such type of domicile at the time of admission as a proof.
According to Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014 the applicant whose parent have been a Defense Personnel and served in Karnataka for a minimum of one year and is on duty in Active Service/Field and whose family has been granted the permission to stay in Karnataka. To get eligible as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014, such applicant must have qualified the 12th class exam form any Government Recognized or Government Institution in Karnataka.
An Ex-Servicemen who has declared Karnataka as his home state at the time of joining the service will have to produce a domicile from the “Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement” in order to have their wards eligible as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014. Also the applicant should have passed the 12th class exam from any Board or University or any other institution in India.
Wards of employees of Union Government or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Union or Joint Sector Undertaking, who are shifted anywhere in India and has worked for a minimum period of one year in Karnataka during the 11th and 12th class of the ward are also eligible according to the Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014. Such applicants should also have passed the 12th exam form any Government recognized or Government educational institution in Karnataka.
The working or retired employees of Union or Union Government or Karnataka State Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking who have declared Karnataka as their home town state and have studied in the Government or Government recognized institutions located in Karnataka for minimum of 7 yrs and were liable to be transferred anywhere in India can have their wards eligible for KCET 2014 if their ward has passed the 12th class exam from any Board or University or any other educational institution from anywhere in India as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014.
The wards of Members of Parliament who are elected from Karnataka and have passed their 12th class exam from any Board or University in India will be eligible as per Eligibility Criteria.
The wards of working or retired employees of All India Service of Karnataka cadre and of the employees of Karnataka State Government who has worked or is working outside Karnataka during the study period from 1st to 12th can be included to make up the seven years of study in Karnataka as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014.
According to Eligibility Criteria, the wards of Jammu &Kashmir Migrants are also eligible for KCET 2014 given they submit the proof of migration from the jurisdictional “District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner” of any Indian State.
The applicants who have studied outside Karnataka in Kannada medium from 1st to 10th class are eligible as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014. Such applicants need not give the Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA given the applicant have passed the 12th class examination from the Government Recognized or Government institution.
The applicants who have passed the qualifying exam from any University or Board located anywhere In India and are the wards of the people serving in CAPF who have declared Karnataka as their home town state and whose proof is available in the record office of CAPF unit are also eligible as per Eligibility Criteria of KCET 2014 .
The applicants have to submit various documents at the time of application and admission in KCET 2014 which are listed in the Information Brochure. According to Eligibility Criteria, applicants claiming eligibility in all the above mentioned categories must furnish these documents in order to be eligible for KCET 2014.
Applicants, taking KCET 2014 for admission in Engineering and Technology courses, will get result around the end of May, 2014. The result will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the applicants in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics in KCET 2014.
If however, the Result of two or more applicants is same, the inter-se merit will be calculated on the basis of marks secured in Physics, then Chemistry and then Mathematics in KCET 2014.
If in any case the tie still remains in Result, the preference will be decided on the basis of age of the applicants and the elder applicant will be given preference over the younger applicant.
If in the case, tie still remains between applicants, the KCET 2014 Entrance Exam Result for such applicants will be calculated on the basis of draw of lots.
